Civicance Ltd, providing Local Land Charges of behalf of Cheshire East have been shortlisted for a national award!

Cheshire East, recognising the need to improving services for residents created the wholly owned company April 2015 and welcomes this nomination as it represents the success of this innovative and exciting approach to Local Authority service delivery.

The 2017 Land Data Local Land Charges Awards for Excellence, celebrate the work and achievements of local authority local land charges departments throughout the country.

The Best Customer Experience Award

The awards are designed to recognise the vitally important work carried out by local land charges teams during the conveyancing process and to identify those teams and individuals that are performing their functions to the highest possible standards. The national awards cover seven categories recognising customer satisfaction, best customer experience, most improved NLIS service, best NLIS local land charges department, the local land charges officer of the year and the unsung hero award. A winner and a highly commended for each category will be chosen by a panel of judges from Land Data, the Local Land Charges Institute, NLIS, SearchFlow and Thames Water Property Searches.

Here at Civicance Ltd we know that buying or selling a home is one of the most stressful times and the Land Charges team have worked tirelessly to provide additional information - such as HS2 - within its reports. We have also introduced a tracking service on the website that allows buyers and their conveyancer to track the progress of a property search by just entering an email address. The system then keeps you updated on progress right through to the report being issued.

With an average turnaround of just 3 working days from request to report issue it’s great to see that the staff are playing their part in reducing any conveyancing delay.

The Best Customer Experience Award Criteria

The Best Customer Experience award celebrates and promotes excellence in customer experience rewarding those local authorities whose efforts, alongside those of the NLIS Channels help to deliver an exceptional customer experience and deliver industry leading levels of service. Local authorities are asked to demonstrate and give evidence of how they offer value added services in order to make the search process smoother and a lawyer’s life easier.

Judges will be looking for evidence of:

  • the provision of an urgent search if requested by the NLIS Hub
  • notifying the NLIS Hub of changes to service delivery parameters, immediately or within 24 hours
  • if a search needs to be rejected, (or when negotiation is used) providing a detailed “customer friendly” explanation
  • the ability to supply, preferably electronically, copy documents upon request

The Awards will be presented at a celebrity hosted gala dinner at the Bristol Royal Marriott Hotel on 6th March 2017, which is at the end of the first day of the annual Local Land Charges Training & Development Event.
